Portfolio Feature #5:
Custom Wrought Iron Railings
We designed and installed this custom wrought iron railing in Abbotsford, BC. The customer asked us to design something unique. Two important features were that the railings weren't overly imposing, and it felt light to allow things to flow though the room.
Some design notes for this wrought iron railing project:
We made small, rectangular frames and paralleogram frames for the angled sections out of 1/2 sq, sanding them to perfection. This railing has 3/8 x 2 flatbar for a topcap with a completely customized lambs tounge on the end of the angled railings for the finishing touch. And the finish is a matt black powdercoating.
Materials used in this wrought iron railing project:
- wrought iron
- 3/8 x 2 flatbar cap
- 1/2 sq internal picket frames
- 1 1/2 sq hss tubing posts
- 3/8 x 1 1/2 lower rail
We love how our unique process of designing this railing and its final finishing really makes this railing pop.
