Serpentine Railing or Susan Railing,
West Vancouver, B.C.,
Portfolio Feature #7:
This serpertine railing, also known as a Susan Railing, was created for a beautiful and unique garden in West Vancouver. The customer had a large, curved, concrete retaining wall that needed an attractive solution for this amazing home.
To be frank, this type of project takes an incredible of time and care to produce something amazing because it involves sculpting the railing to exactly fit the home.
Serpentine Railing Design Notes:
We custom formed a 2 1/4 moulded cap rail of steel in many different radii to fit this project.
The materials we used are 3/8 x 1 1/2 steel flat-bar for the bottom rail, 1 1/2 HSS tubing posts, and 5/8 solid square bar.
Once we created the railing, We came back and cored out the basalt steps and concrete wall. Then, we filled the holes to create the most smoothest, cleanest look possible.
2 other handrails and 2 angled railings with cast and forged details polished to perfection with dynafiles were also created.
This type of project will create an amazing look to fit specialized custom homes.
