Iron Railing, Chilliwack, B.C., Portfolio #13
People often compare the price of wood vs metal. In cases of high-end wood materials, it is comparable. However, once wood gets any type of damage, filler materials and glue never fix it right.
On the flip side, heavyweight, high-quality railings last forever.
Customers often have wood railings that are mostly intact but, at some point, they receive some type of damage that is either costly or extremely difficult to do without significant refinishing.
Fully welded steel railings don’t have these problems. It’s a one-and-done solution that allows the customer to essentially purchase exactly what they want by working out a custom design with us and never have to worry about it again.
A few of the materials used:
This project is made from American 1×3 HSS tubing for the top cap.
Using 1/4 x 1 pickets on edge with the cap proved make a substantial railing.
