Custom Exterior Fireplace, Portfolio #25
This is a custom exterior fireplace we designed for a customer. It uses a stainless steel insulated stack on the top to carry up the smoke.
The customer wanted a traditional-styled fireplace, and we accomplished it.
We made two sets of doors. One set was blocked entirely in to maximize heat for cooking inside of it. The other had 1-inch square holes cut into it to allow the flames to be seen and increase airflow.
We also built a custom baffle for the fireplace at the bottom. This allowed the customer to adjust the airflow into the fire.
We also built a large tray to capture all of the ash and an internal rack to lift wood off the floor of the fireplace.
The bottom of the unit allows for wood storage, and the mesh cover finishes it.
The entire fireplace was built from a 1/4-inch plate, and the design was initially mocked up in 3d so the customer could visualize what we were building and make adjustments as necessary.
If you're looking for a similar unit, we have already figured out pretty much everything that needs to go into it to make it work and would love to build one for you.
