Custom Aluminum Cable Railing, Portfolio #30.
We recently completed a custom cable railing project from scratch. We used 2x3 aluminum for the posts, drilling out all the holes including the tricky angles. The top cap was 1x3, giving the railing a sleek look. To make the railing look like it was floating, we opted to not include a lower rail. To include a lower railing means that longer railings need to be straightened with a straight edge and clamped in place before securing with lag bolts or concrete anchors. The end result is a beautiful aluminum cable railing that instantly up’s the curb appeal of this house.
